I specialise in working with people who have experienced trauma, as well as people involved with the criminal justice system.
Different people need different types of support at different times. By working together, we can tailor the type of therapy to suit you as an individual.

My name is Marina, I have been working as a counsellor in the criminal justice system since 2015.
I specialise in working sensitively with psychological trauma.
I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy - 326334).

Payments are accepted via bank transfer, PayPal or cash.
Face to face sessions are available at The Trinity Centre, Shrewsbury, SY3 9HF.
A ground floor accessible room can be booked if required. An accessible toilet is available and there is free parking.
Online sessions via Doxy.me can also be booked.

Depending on what has brought you to therapy and your preferences, one or a combination of these therapies can be used.
I also offer the Compassion Focused Risk Aware programme (COFRA 121). COFRA is a one-to-one programme that lasts 16 weeks, each session is 90 minutes long.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE INTRODUCTORY SESSION?
The first session is a chance to meet (online or in person) and see whether you think we might be a good fit. We will go through the confidentiality agreement, you can ask any questions you have and we can discuss what you'd like to get out of therapy.
Your name, contact details and availability will be collected when you initially contact Marina Therapy.
Your personal information will only be used in accordance with the provision of therapy. Your personal details will not be shared with any other person or organisation without your knowledge or permission, unless there is a legal requirement or safeguarding issue.
Brief anonymised notes will be taken after a session solely for therapeutic purposes. Handwritten information will be stored securely, and electronic data will be password protected.
All records will be kept for a minimum of 5 years in accordance with insurance requirements and then securely destroyed.
